First Sketch: Nissan Global Compact Car

Nissan is teasing its upcoming global compact car with this pair of recently released design sketches. The car, which also goes by the name of Nissan Global Compact Car or NGCC, will first be launched in Thailand next March and will eventually find its way to 150 countries worldwide. We're assuming the U.S. will be one of those countries, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

No further details have been announced (i.e. engine, platform, etc), but expect them in the near future. With Nissan's wide variety of fuel-friendly four-cylinders available, it's anyone's best guess as to what will power the car.

Officials did mention that the new compact car will qualify as the first Thai "Eco-Car".

Some sources are indicating this is the next Micra model, but again, official information from Nissan is scant at this point. We wouldn't be surprised though if a version of the NGCC makes a showing at this month's Tokyo show under the Micra badge. Stay glued to this channel for more.
