New Car: 2011 Volvo S60

The inside’s out on Volvo’s new S60. Bosses have released these first official pictures – and claim the saloon’s interior will be stylish and sporty enough to rival big guns Audi and BMW.

To match the car’s sleek shape, there’s a chic-looking dash and three-spoke steering wheel, plus sculpted seats.

Options include Adaptive Cruise Control, a Park Assist camera and a Pedestrian Detection system, which applies the brakes if someone steps out in front of the car.

As with every Volvo, there will be an eco DRIVe variant. The S60 emits only 115g/km of CO2.

Buyers also get the option of a 202bhp twin-turbo D5 diesel and a 3.0-litre T6 turbo petrol. There’s a new 2.0-litre GTDi direct-injection petrol, plus a 2.0-litre five-cylinder diesel.

A clever Four-C active chassis can be specified – this adjusts the dampers according to road conditions. The S60 is available with either a Comfort or Dynamic chassis set-up as standard. For more details click here.
