New Car: 2010 Kia Rio

After five years, the second-generation Rio is getting a makeover. The surrounding images, which surfaced on Kia-World over the weekend, show the adaptation of design cues first seen at the Geneva auto show. The 2010 Rio ("Pride" in its hometown) has a grille that evokes the styling of the No. 3 concept car. You'll also find elements from the 2010 Forte, including the new front bumper. Kia has also added body-color side moldings. Per the Kia blog, the interior gets an update with a revised center stack, Bluetooth-enabled audio system, steering wheel, and instrument panel.

The current Rio, at $12,190, is the least-expensive car in the Kia lineup. It offers 110 hp and 107 lb-ft of torque from a 1.6L four-cylinder and five-speed manual. No word on powertrain updates yet.Reports pin the Korean on-sale date at next month, and U.S. availability is expected.
