Unofficial Picture: 2010 Alfa Romeo Milano

This could replace your Dodge Caliber. "Could" being the operative word here. An Italian Facebook page dedicated to the upcoming Alfa Romeo Milano (or 149) posted these pictures today, giving a first, unhindered look of the upcoming 147 replacement. The pictures appear to have originated from a cell phone camera at an Alfa production facility and suggest an approaching world debut, possibly at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
We care because the Milano could come stateside. As we've reported, the Milano platform would seem a natural basis for the Caliber replacement. Detroit Editor Todd Lassa reports the Caliber replacement could be here by 2012, and that it will be a Bravo-based vehicle. You can safely expect the overall platform and engine range will be from Fiat. Downside: Chrysler designers will reportedly get their own way when it comes to exterior look and feel.

Reports indicate the Milano will arrive with Fiat's range of Multijet gasoline engines and at least one diesel. Front-drive will be standard and all-wheel-drive an option on the Milano. Currently, the 147 is available in three- and five-door models. If these pictures are any indication, expect the trend to continue.
