Hot News: Volvo Recalls 11,993 Vehicles for Electrical Problem

If you're the owner of a 2008-2010 Volvo S80, 2009-2010 XC70, or 2010 XC60, expect to take your car to the dealership later this month or during October. A recall is under effect for 11,993 vehicles for electrical issues.

"Under certain conditions," says the recall notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, "the software within the central electronic module (CEM) may not send a signal to the fuel pump electronic module (PEM)."

Without this signal, the fuel pump might not be activated, leaving the driver to travel a short distance before the engine stalls. It's not clear whether any accidents have been reported, but the free recall and software upgrade should begin by the end of the month.

Dealers will repair affected inventory before delivering to customers. If you have any questions about the recall, contact Volvo at 1-800-458-1552.
